What we offer
We’re an organisation with a clear mission: to make insurance easier and better value for our customers. So, we’re providing amazing, evolving products and services that are just what people need. And amazing, evolving careers for people like you.
When we started back in the 80s, getting insurance was a long, complicated business. You had to go through a broker and it was all a bit of a pain.
So, we decided it should be easier, by offering insurance over the phone. That's how we started the direct insurance revolution – and with strong values, distinctive brands and great people, we’re still leading the way today.
Our brands are household names across the UK, offering great value insurance products and services to thousands of customers every day.
Our corporate values are behind the way we do business every day and, because everyone here helped to set them, everybody follows them. So, if you’re thinking of joining us, it helps if you share these values, too:
For everyone in contact with our business. That means making decisions that are right, not necessarily easy, acting with integrity and always thinking about the long-term.
We always aim to be better and never settle for second best. That means persevering, being brave enough to try new things and learning from mistakes. And it means always challenging, welcoming change and delivering on our promises.
We combine our skills, knowledge and experience across all levels, business areas and teams, to produce the best possible results. That means we trust each other and celebrate successes together.
It’s our business, so take the initiative to make things better. That means making decisions, being accountable and pushing your own development and performance.
Be true to yourself. Speak and act like an adult, understanding and respecting other people’s views, being open about any issues and sharing information, whilst keeping it simple.
Be the best you can be. Celebrate the variety of skills, experiences and personalities here. Believe in yourself and those around you, by being a role model with a “can do” attitude. Most of all, have fun.
To back up our business values, we also have a set of pillars that set out the experience of everyone who works here.
We’re positive about the future of our business and love taking on big challenges to prove people wrong. This creates an atmosphere where everyone can grow and develop.
It’s our differences that make us unique. We all have our own strengths and contribute in our own way. And what we do is valued and recognised right across the Group.
Anyone here can improve what we do and how we do it. From coming up with new ideas to trying out new technologies, you can make things better for us and our customers.
We always aim to understand our customers and each other better so we can anticipate what people want and give it to them before they ask. If something does go wrong, we’ll recognise and learn from it, to stop it ever happening again.
Join us and you’ll find that we never stand still. As a Group, that means we’re always looking to stay one step ahead of what our customers will want next. For you, it means a rewarding and enjoyable career, with the scope to learn new skills, suggest new ideas and work with people who share your enthusiasm for giving customers great service.
We know you’ve heard this all before, but the culture here at DLG really is something else. We embrace our individuality – you’ll see it in the way that we think and work, it’s all about ensuring you can enjoy making a contribution, have some fun and be yourself in every aspect. We encourage each other to be the best we can be: no opinion goes unheard, no achievement goes unrecognised, and no idea goes unknown – we even reward you for them! We encourage our people to work together, aim higher and to be the best they can be – for customers, colleagues and the business. It’s an indefinable “DLGness” that makes us who we are, and we’d love for you to be a part of it.
So, enough about us, our work/life balance is all about you. Sometimes it can be difficult to juggle all that life throws at you, so that’s why we do everything we can to help you make the most of it with a range of flexible working options, from part-time, term-time or home working, to job sharing and variable hours. We’ll also support you through the big moments in life, from parental leave to career breaks. We don’t shy away from a good time either – there’s always something going on after work, from casual nights to fancy events, and we’ll give you one free day a year to support a charity or your local community as well as loads of opportunities to help us fundraise for all sorts of amazing causes throughout the year. If it matters to you, it matters to us too.
Learning is all about discovery, and if you have the appetite to develop then we’ll make sure you have all the key skills and knowledge you’ll need to do your job, as well as help you plan for your future development at DLG. We offer all kinds of training, from online and on the job learning, to courses, workshops and the chance to gain professional or vocational qualifications. We want to help you reach your full potential and give you the tools to get there.
We recognise we wouldn’t be where we are today without our colleagues, that’s why we offer such excellent benefits designed to suit you as and when you need them.
We’ll let you know if the job you’re interested in offers other optional benefits when you apply.
Our colleagues come from a range of backgrounds which means we benefit from alternative viewpoints, perspectives and ideas. We celebrate and encourage this individuality, and believe it makes us strong and supportive as a team. If you wanted to see this in action then our Diversity Network Alliance (DNA) is a great example as it makes diversity and inclusion an everyday reality. DNA stands for everything and everyone. Which means no matter what your gender, age, ethnicity, beliefs or sexual preference, or if you’re disabled or a carer, it’s there for you. DNA challenges thinking, influences policy and encourages people to work together to create an even more welcoming and diverse organisation.
