Who we are
What we offer
Apprenticeships are fast becoming the norm for people wanting to fast-track their career, learning and opportunity for earning. Get stuck in to something real and learn with us in a practical environment. Our apprenticeships run all over the country, ranging from vehicle repairs and project management to IT, HR and our front-line Customer Service. There are loads of routes to take to earn while you learn, all of which lead to a recognised qualification, and a permanent job at the end of it all. Go against the grain, think outside the box, join our apprenticeship scheme.
We're currently taking applications for our 2019 Apprenticeship opportunities.
Claims, Customer Services, Auto Services, Sales, Human Resources, Pricing and Underwriting, Project Management – we’ve pretty much got you covered at Direct Line Group. Find out what our apprentices enjoy most about working and learning with us.
Real first-hand experience, great support from across the Group and the chance to build your skills in one of the UK’s most successful industries. That’s what you can expect as one of hundreds of apprentices in the Group. You’ll get monthly training from a dedicated assessor, study-time during the week, projects to master, online learning and a qualification at the end of it, and of course, you’ll be getting paid while you learn your trade. In any case, it all adds up to a great start to your career.
There’s no better place to start your career than with a market leader in a dynamic industry. We’re proud of the business we’ve created and the people who make it all possible. From the moment you walk through the door you’ll be immersed in the working environment that has been the secret to our success. Buzzy, vibrant and inclusive, we’re inspired to work together, aim higher and be the best we can be. So, whether you’ve been here for a few weeks or a few decades, you’ll always learn. Always evolve. And you’ll always bring your whole self to everything you do.
We do everything we can to make sure our people are happy and comfortable. You can see it in the way we talk to each other, the way we dress down and the way we get the work/life balance just right. When it comes to the social side of things, there’s also plenty to look forward to – with team get togethers and organised events happening all the time. We’ll even give you opportunities to do your bit for fundraising activities or the local community. This is the first step of your career with us, so we want you to enjoy every moment.
The whole reason you’re here is to learn. So in every interaction in every part of our business, we’ll make sure you’re doing exactly that. As an apprentice, a training provider assessor will meet with you each month to tailor your individual learning plan, helping you gain all the knowledge you need to understand your role. With 3.5 hours of study time each week, online learning and quarterly apprenticeship development, we’ll help you stay on track to get the very best from this opportunity. And at the end, you’ll have a great set of specialist skills, a professional qualification, and the chance to progress to our Higher Apprenticeship Programme or secure a permanent, full-time role with us.
We know that everybody likes different benefits, depending on what’s most important to them. That’s why we’ve designed a set of rewards that you can choose from to suit your needs.
By recruiting people from a range of backgrounds, we benefit from alternative viewpoints, perspectives and ideas. That’s what our Diversity Network Alliance (DNA) is all about. As a single group of people, focusing on diversity and inclusion across our business, DNA stands for everything and everyone. Which means no matter what your gender, age, ethnicity, beliefs or sexual preference, or if you’re disabled or a carer, it’s there for you. With strands representing different groups, DNA challenges thinking, influences policy and encourages people to work together to create an even more welcoming and diverse organisation.
We have apprenticeships at a variety of locations up and down the country. So, why not find the nearest one to you?
Whichever programme you’re interested in, we’ll want to see that you are someone who wants to help our customers and is willing to be adaptable, curious, and not afraid to ask for help. You may find that you need some specific education requirements for the business area you choose, but we don’t expect vast experience. You’ll be studying towards a qualification relevant to your Apprenticeship while working full time.
