Do you have a passion for technology? We are looking for a QA Software Engineer to join our creative and dedicated teams here at Direct Line Group.
As a QA Software Engineer you will play a pivotal role in a multi-functional agile team, supporting the delivery, launch and ongoing support for new Transformational platforms to better service our Pet and Travel customers.
You will have significant experience in both manual and automated testing practices and will be used to working closely with both business users and software engineers in defining and executing effective testing processes. Comprehension of non-functional testing along with experience of interface/integration testing and experience with build and repositories tools (e.g. Maven and GIT) would be desirable but not essential.
Who you’ll be working with:
The Technology Engineering Tribe works across all the business and customer facing Tribes and is part of our Engineering Chapter. Our mission is, “Be awesome at building and running technology”.
Also, as part of the Engineering Chapter, you will be working with Engineering Chapter Leads and other Software Engineers on adopting industry standard methodologies in the Agile software development.
As part of our Agile operating model, you will be embedded within a cross-functional squad dedicated towards the transformation of our Pet insurance services, working in collaboration with the whole squad to identify, prioritise and deliver key outcomes.
You will also work closely with wider DLG teams to ensure the platform complies with the appropriate guidelines, controls and technology strategies.
What you’ll be doing:
Build and Operate Services and Platforms as a member of cross-functional team.
Define QA requirements, architecture, design & specifications and test conditions.
Actively participate in planning, estimation, and prioritisation processes to ensure successful execution of QA activities.
You will have a passion to design, build, and expand our cloud-based, automation framework.
Testing using Selenium, Cucumber, REST-assured, SOAP UI, Postman, JMeter and LoadRunner.
Experience with AWS, Cloud OR Azure.
Working with TDD and BDD methodologies.
Research new technologies and propose improvements to existing platforms as well as migration from legacy systems.
Build and maintain QA reporting capability across entire engineering function.
Understand and be well acquainted and embrace CI/CD practices, working collaboratively and effectively in DevOps environments
You will take ownership of own personal development and career progression.
