We currently have an exciting opportunity to join our Bromley based Procurement and Supply Chain team as a Sourcing Manager, on a full-time and permanent basis.

Please note: This is a predominantly home based role with occasional travel to our Bromley office, when it is safe to do so.

The Role:

As a Sourcing Manager, you will support the implementation of the DLG Procurement and Supply Chain strategy within each category of responsibility.

What being a Sourcing Manager involves :

Leading the annual Category Planning (strategy) cycle for assigned categories or sub-categories to identify demand, specification and supply base opportunities by understanding category cost drivers, markets, innovation and risks.

Supporting the Senior Sourcing Manager on analysis and input on more complex, high value or high risk categories.

Working with partners to influence the conversion of category plans to deliver a pipeline of savings and value that’s aligned to the business strategy.

Managing end to end tender activity including sourcing plan, tenders (RFI/RFP), supplier negotiations and implement contract arrangements in line with DLG procurement processes and minimum standards.

To support all commercial aspects of implementation, including on-boarding and exit of suppliers, change management requests and work with Commercial Managers on ongoing supplier management issues and disputes.


Will manage spend up to £50m – dependent on category and role.

Reporting into the Category Head (who reports into the CPO).

Lead partner engagement for relevant categories.

What we are looking for:

You’ll be able to demonstrate extension sourcing experience; a category specialist who has a keen insight and understanding of business requirements on a 1-3 year horizon across your portfolio of sub-categories.

We are looking for a commercial leaders who has utilised excellent project management skills to lead sophisticated areas of spend.

You’ll need to use your competitor and industry knowledge to drive innovation, performance and commercial value.

Other skills:

  • Strong Category Planning (strategy) expertise.

  • Demonstration of running end to end sourcing activity and supplier negotiations.

  • Commercial acumen.

  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to craft positive relationships at all levels.

  • Proven track record of procurement activity and results.

  • Drive and passion to learn.

  • Someone who is able to live our business values

  • Services procurement background is beneficial
