Digital Product Owner

This is an exciting role within our Digital department; as a Product Owner you will manage the agile delivery and optimisation of Digital products taking commercial direction from the Digital Product Manager and wider business stakeholders.

The Product Owner has the main responsibility for driving the product vision and requirements with the support of the development team and Scrum Master and owns the success for assigned digital products. You will organise requirements following key agile frameworks including User Story Mapping, Epic & Feature hierarchies and feature Injection user story writing, pivoting and prototyping  

What being a Digital Product Owner involves:

  • Maintaining the product vision, road-map and own the success for assigned digital products
  • Managing and prioritising the product backlog in alignment with commercial KPIs and wider business requirements
  • Organising requirements following key agile frameworks including User Story Mapping, Epic & Feature hierarchies, Feature Injection user story writing, pivoting and prototyping
  • Defining the acceptable levels of quality for product development (avoiding gold-plating where possible) while championing iterative, incremental delivery.
  • Supporting and aligning to project delivery budgets and commercial KPIs
  • Owning all primary stakeholder engagement and communications.
  • Defining, managing and prioritising all release and go-live dates for assigned products
  • Acting as the primary point of escalation for the development team from a product development perspective (able to answer any queries and support the team).
  • Being responsible for Product risks associated with delivery and prioritisation
  • Being responsible for tracking and monitoring return on investment and business benefits on all product releases
  • Taking ownership of own personal development and career progression
  • Identifying, owning, and managing the risks involved in running our business appropriate to my role, in line with the company risk framework
  • Championing the agile frameworks (Scrum and Kanban) within the team, ensure that Agile principles are practised by peers and understood by stakeholders

Skills we are looking for:

  • Product Owner Certification
  • Previous experience in a web/software delivery environment
  • Enjoys working with people (facilitating and collaborating)
  • Exceptional communicator
  • Strong commercial awareness and prioritisation skills
  • Previous experience in product development/management
  • Detailed knowledge of the DLG product suite
  • Strong decision making ability
