We have an fantastic opportunity for an innovative, analytical underwriter to join our Motor Underwriting Performance team here at Direct Line Group as a Senior Underwriting Performance Analyst. This is a full time, permanent role based in our Bromley office.

You will play a key role in your team to analyse and manage the underwriting performance of the Motor product, supporting the wider business to deliver its trading targets. This will include analysis of key performance statistics, and delivery of underwriting actions such as applying new underwriting rules, improving rating or managing fraud prevention tools.

You will be accountable for:

  • Carrying out analysis to understand underwriting performance
  • Identifying current underwriting risks and opportunities, and working with stakeholders to deliver appropriate actions
  • Analysing underwriting footprint to highlight potential areas of growth
  • Preparing results of analysis for key trading forums in order to gain support for your proposals

Key competencies we are looking for:

  • Educated to degree level, ideally with demonstrable experience in Underwriting or Pricing
  • Experience of analysis, and an ability to take statistical and qualitative information and turn it into something that adds value to the business
  • Commercial awareness, ideally of the Personal Lines Motor Insurance market
  • A confident attitude with an ability to influence stakeholders
  • Competent user of Excel
  • Experience using SAS and QlikSense (or equivalent) preferable

Hours: Monday - Friday (9am - 5pm)
