Head of Technology Risk

This is a fantastic opportunity for a Head of Technology Risk to join Direct Line Group, a market leading insurer based in Bromley.  We’re just 15 mins from Victoria!

Intro to the function and detail on the department and how this fits within TS.

Some key focuses will be;

  • Accountable for the DLG Technology Risk framework covering Cyber, Technology Resilience and Data Management governance, risk and assurance objectives ensuring that IT and Cyber risk management is comprehensive and aligned to the DLG business strategy and risk appetite.
  • Develop strategic department-wide solutions, polices, standards and forward planning to keep up with industry standards and best practice, devising methods to identify key IT and Cyber risks that may impact DLG operations, change and the delivery of the DLG business strategy or present a threat to DLG risk appetite.
  • Drive collaboration across operational teams and change programmes to ensure the appropriate technical capacity and capability is in place making recommendations on design and build of robust risk management solutions and controls to enable to delivery of the DLG business strategy.  Recommendations should consider DLG risk appetite, commercial considerations and future agility of business operations.
  • Drive audit and testing assurance programmes to ensure DLG IT and Cyber controls are compliant with FCA and PRA requirements as well internal standards and policies, providing a holistic view of capability across key thematic areas of DLG IT and Cyber control environment.
  • Accountable for first line risk and assurance governance objectives, ensuring accurate management information and reporting through to Exco, Board and DLG Risk Committees to enable decisions that influence DLG’s risk appetite position and ability to deliver the DLG business strategy.
  • Provide management and leadership of the DLG Technology Risk function and wider ISRA function, supporting operational teams and business stakeholders.

    Essential Skills

  • Proven experience in managing and delivering governance, risk and assurance initiatives.
  • A working knowledge of IT and Cyber risk frameworks, standards and assessment methodologies.
  • Experience in a highly regulated business environment, ideally gained in the financial services industry.

    Desirable Skills

  • Experience of/in large transformation and business change programmes.
