What we’re looking for:

We are looking to hire a talented Senior Platform Owner within Technology Services. You will be responsible for transforming our Claims platforms within our Application Development & Maintenance (AD&M) Team – our build and run team for our Technology Solutions in Technology Services.

This is an exciting time to join the Technology Services team at Direct Line Group and we’re looking for curious minds, status-quo challengers and critical thinkers who will bring a fresh perspective to our team.

What you’ll be doing:

With your practical experience of working in a development driven, outcome-based environment, you will lead a global team to deliver the next generation claims platforms.

Some key focuses will be;

  • Good technical and planning knowledge (utilising pre-existing java development experience)
  • Wide breadth of development knowledge with previous hands-on Java development and end to end delivery of technically complex platforms
  • Proven practical experience of working in an Agile/DevOps environment (Agile experience to that of at least scrum master)
  • Strong presentation skills with the ability to generate key messages across several channels and delivery of these across various levels of the organisation
  • Ownership of end to end platform lifecycle
  • Proven governance and control experience, with the ability to drive and manage change in a highly regulated environment
  • Business knowledge related to the claims organisation/Business – specifically from a technology platform perspective
  • Management of multimillion pound contracts with third parties, along with commercial negotiation and vendor management skills and knowledge


Required Skills

  • You will have a strong and broad technical background, with specific experience in Guidewire and other claims technology standard platforms.
  • Experience in data management and processing you will help rationalise our current application suite to deliver our go-forward platform.

  • This position may be suited for someone who has worked within the following roles: Senior Developer, Solutions Architect, Platform Owner
