Commercial Lines is an increasingly meaningful part of Direct Line Group’s success story, making up £74m of DLG’s 2017 total operating profit of £611m. Going forward, there are ambitious plans to deliver further performance improvements via a pricing transformation program that entails using improved risk, geo and demand models, having an improved data infrastructure, and having access to an advanced suite of analytical tools.

We are looking for a Senior Analyst Programmer to join the team in Bromley on a full time permanent basis.

About the existing team:

The Commercial Data & MI team are currently involved in completing a pricing transformation program which has involved,

  • Bringing a new technology, Alteryx into DLG
  • Setting up a new SQL server platform
  • New reporting tool, Tableau.

This in time will replace the current silo'd and non GDPR compliant set up using SAS. The team compliment the other areas such as pricing, modelling and underwriting functions and form the cornerstone of MI delivery.  Each member of the team bring their own strengths and individuality to a demanding and enjoyable environment. The team is diverse, with members working in the UK and in India, with many years experience in General Insurance. This is and exciting time to join the Commercial Data & MI team as it provides a strong platform for learning and progression.

What we are looking for:

  • You will be educated to degree level from a numerical degree
  • Programming skills would be useful
  • Ideally you will have a background in SAS/Python
  • Insurance knowledge is desireable
