Claims Handler - Credit Hire
What being a Credit Hire Claims Handler involves
The purpose of the Credit Hire Handler role is to proactively manage credit hire claims, adhering to regulatory timescales and guidelines to achieve the optimum claim settlement and maximise cost control
Key responsibilities:
Manage new claim registration by capturing accurate and relevant data for the investigation and/or settlement of claims.
Identifying any potential elements of Fraud
Validate policy cover to verify indemnity status
Maximise cost control through negotiating the optimum claim settlement
Make an accurate liability assessment based on the information provided to manage customer expectations
Maintain accurate claim reserve
Identify and refer litigated cases to our dedicated panel of solicitors
Manage the customer experience, ensuring adherence at all times to the principles of Treating Customers Fairly (including Complaint Handling guidelines)
Pro-actively and professionally communicate with our customers and colleagues to manage expectations and achieve the appropriate outcome
Identify, own and manage the risks involved in running our business appropriate to my role, in line with the DLG risk framework
Develop self in order to maximise personal contribution to your role and to understand how it fits into the wider Claims operating model
Skills and qualities you’ll need:
Motor Claims experience is essential
Excellent telephone manner and a passion for customer service
Clear and professional communicator
Ability to work under pressure
High level of accuracy and attention to detail
Ability to work as part of a team
Enthusiasm and trustworthiness
Previous experience in an Insurance/Financial Services environment would be preferable
Hours: 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday
Ways of Working
Reporting to your team leader you'll work on a hybrid basis. You’ll be in our Birmingham office with your team twice per month where you’ll really benefit from additional support and team connections to ensure you are empowered to do right by our customers (our teams love their in-office days and social events). You then have the choice of working from home the rest of the week or you can book a desk in the office if you prefer.

Base salary from £23,000 plus 9% pension (which can be taken in cash)
