As a Motor Repair Specialist, you will be thinking about how to evolve our repair strategy, anticipating future trends and improving current business models. Using critical thinking to bring new insight into the business and stretch people’s creativity about what is possible, the role enables the future technology needs to be planned and prepared for, keeping our business fit for the future.
Purpose of Role
To enable DLG to fulfil our license to operate of repairing cars safely and correctly in a changing technological landscape.
To be aware of and prepared for advancing technology so DLG AS are able to recognise, diagnose, and repair correctly from the first insurance
To engage with internal and external sources of information (Pricing and Underwriting, Thatcham, Audatex, Motor Shows, etc.) to understand the shape of changes and then drive change accordingly in DLG alongside the Future Technology Specialist.
To work with external bodies to create and continue collaborations and learning opportunities, including generating government funding (where relevant).
To shape technology focused strategic workforce planning and people development across the Motor Network and Engineering Services directorate.
To work at the intersection of repair, research, and insurance, and draw out the implications and impacts of changes in all three on each other.
To provide strategic direction for the Technology Centre alongside the Technology Specialist team and to enact strategic decisions taken for the space.
To communicate technical knowledge across DLG and beyond.
To work closely with the Motor Network Technology Strategist to build future repair strategies at a people, facility, and industry level.

Ensure all business activity is conducted in accordance with the Group’s Compliance environment, including adherence to the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) requirements and any other legal/regulatory/risk management frameworks that impact on the business acting as First Line of defence.
To ensure any external data sources are managed within the Groups Compliance and procurement rules.
