Darwin Trading Strategy Manager

What you'll be doing:
We have an exciting new opportunity to join the team as a Trading Manager. The role will be part of our Customer and Commercial Value (CCV) chapter. The CCV chapter represents the wide set of commercial, P&L management, customer journey and product skills that are essential for adding new value for our customers and shareholders. In this role, you will be responsible for driving growth & profitability by setting the commercial plan for the business and developing trading strategies to deliver the plan. Some specifics the role will include:
Define and deliver trading metrics measures & Management Information (from multiple sources)
Deliver the business plan and trading KPIs providing steer on prioritising opportunities
Use a range of insight and direct approaches to actively track the motor insurance market, present analysis and findings, and give direction for pricing / underwriting / product & customer journey improvements
Develop retail tests to improve trading metrics of written premium, volume, loss ratio risk mix and profit contribution
Build a deep understanding of the drivers of profitability, especially underlying risk pricing and the uncertainty inherent in the risk price
Use data and commercial instinct to make big decisions in uncertain economic conditions and help the CEO /CFO / ExCo members understand these
Work in an Agile squad to deliver customer and commercial objectives aligned with group OKRs (Objectives & Key Results)
What you'll need:
The successful candidate will be a data native who can couple data skills to build credible insight into trading performance and work with Pricing & Underwriting, Technology and Operational teams to deliver initiatives to drive trade. You will have a passion for driving real change by demonstrating your data and commercial skills and harnessing the full potential of people around you.
