What you'll be doing:

We are looking for an Engineering Delivery Lead to support delivery in our Customer Office line of business. This new tribe brings together the teams who have the insight and skills to design the best journeys and experience for our customers, build the capability to deliver genuinely data-driven marketing and a step change in our customer value management activities.

You will be accountable for the engineering delivery to a high quality. This includes overseeing technical detail, holding others to account on delivery, whilst pushing for the right technical solution and ensuring the project make the right calls.   • Oversee technology excellence for the customer domain of the DLG business.

  • Help shape and deliver the future technical customer platforms for DLG.

  • Work with other like-minded engineers who enjoy delivering great products to the business

  • Use your engineering experience to help DLG achieve its goals.

  • Collaborate across the organization with other engineering teams and the business to help drive and deliver quality products

  • Help evolve and implement engineering best practices

  • Guide the engineering community forward to overcome challenges.

  • Make the right technical decisions at the right time, balancing delivery versus DLG/Architectural goals

  • Grow your own engineering capacity and help others to do so too

  • Help grow the engineers in the organization to help achieve DLG's goals of being one of the best engineering organizations around

Who you'll work with:

Reporting into the Engineering Chapter, You will work with Business Leads, Delivery Teams, Architecture leads, Governance, and other Engineers on identifying and adopting industry best practices within our Agile software development lifecycle.

What you'll need:

  • Previous hands-on Technical Engineering and Lead Engineering experience of large-scale solutions

  • Experience overseeing the quality of delivery and engineering excellence e.g. code quality reviews, optimizing delivery efficiency, and making decisions with data-driven insight

  • Experience implementing solutions on AWS or similar cloud platforms

  • Experience in some of the following: Java, Springboot API, Python, FastAPI

  • Experience in automation testing and deployments including DevOps pipelines, CI/CD, BDD and TDD

  • Work in mixed delivery models of inhouse engineering teams and offshore system integrators.
