Following significant build and transformation of core assets, ranging from telephony to core customer-facing platforms, we know there’s still more we can do.

A new opportunity has come up for an Engineering Lead to support delivery in our 'Home' line of business.

This role will be accountable for project management engineering delivery to a high quality. This includes owning technical detail, holding others to account (executing and delivering your remit) on delivery, whilst pushing for the right technical solution and ensuring the project make the right calls. Who you’ll be working with:

As a member of key strategic projects you'll be working with Business Leads, Delivery Teams, Architecture leads, Governance and other Engineers on adopting industry best practices in the Agile software development.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Owning technology excellence for a domain of the DLG business.

  • Being involved heavily in helping shape and deliver the future technical platforms for DLG.

  • Working very closely with other like-minded engineers who enjoy delivering great products to the business

  • Using your engineering knowledge and experience to help DLG achieve its business goals.

  • Collaborating across the organisation with other engineering teams and the business to help drive deliver, deliver quality products

  • Helping evolve and implement engineering best practices

  • Thinking strategically and driving the engineering community forward to overcome existing and future challenges.

  • Helping to make the right technical decisions at the right time, balancing delivery versus DLG/Architectural goals

  • Growing your own engineering capacity and helping others to do so too

  • Helping grow the engineers in the organisation to make DLG one of the best engineering organisations around

What you’ll need experience in:

  • Previous hands-on Technical Engineering and/or Lead Engineering experience of large-scale solutions

  • How to ensure quality of delivery and engineering excellence e.g. code quality, delivery efficiency, data driven insight

  • Strong experience with implementing solutions on AWS

  • Some of the following: Guidewire, Acturis, Mulesoft, Salesforce, Kafka, Change Data Capture, and Digital Technologies (Angular, JavaScript or Node.js)

  • Experience in automation of testing and deployments including DevOps pipelines, CI/CD, BDD and TDD

  • Working in mixed delivery models of inhouse engineering teams and offshore system integrators.
