Software Engineer - SDET

Direct Line Group is in the process of re-discovering its Software Engineering roots.
We are looking for a polyglot programmer with expertise in test automation. Java is the main language however additional languages such as JavaScript, Python are desirable. Experience in best practices in using Selenium and API-based automation.
We bring together people with several backgrounds, experiences and perspectives and encourage them to collaborate, try new things in a blame-free environment and work together in an agile manner, in efforts to improve our customer experience.

Who you will be working with:
As a member of the team you will contribute to team goal of delivering an insurance platform with the customer at the heart of its focus.
Reporting to the Engineering Chapter, you will work with Engineering Chapter Leads and other Software Engineers on adopting industry standard methodologies in the Agile software development.
What you'll be doing:
Work as a member of a team in a new insurance technology solution for pricing and underwriting, claims, covers, motor, home and rescue.
Skills in Java, GOSU, Web Services and Server technologies.
Test using Selenium, Cucumber, REST-assured, SOAP UI, Postman, JMeter and LoadRunner.
Dependency management with Maven, Gradle, NPM, and Nexus
DevOps with AWS, Jenkins, Docker, GIT and SVN.
Build and Operate Services and Platforms as a member of team.
Ensure software quality by unit, integration and End-to-End testing.
Work with TDD and BDD methodologies.
Research new technologies and propose improvements to existing platforms and migration from legacy systems.
Work with other disciplines including, functional and non-functional testing, security and operations
