Systems Engineer

What you'll be doing:

We are looking for a Systems Engineer with a DevOps mentality to join our Green Flag business. We are proud of the fact that Green Flag is operating as an established FinTech start-up within Direct Line Group and our technology transformation is a SAFe programme made up of 10 cross-functional scrum teams that all have complete end to end ownership of their own platform/product within the overall eco-system.

• Systems engineering responsibilities (building, maintaining and optimising the AWS services/infrastructure of the product platform for the scrum team).

• Provide Agile system engineering expertise (DevOps, Serverless Infrastructure, Networking & Routing, Security, Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC), Continuous Integration, Distributed Systems, Big Data, and Machine Learning).

• Build and maintain key AWS services within the platform (eg, API Gateway, S3, ElasticSearch, DynamoDB etc).

• Work with CI/CD Pipelines using AWS Code Pipeline, AWS CodeBuild, Lambda, Fargate, Docker and using CloudFormation as Infrastructure as a Code.

• Integrate code quality and security tools in deployment pipelines to improve and identify security issues.

• Carry out system reviews to ensure accordance with architectural principles set out by and agreed upon within the team.

• Hands-on experience with Bitbucket, Jira and Confluence.
