What we are looking for:

Join us as a Technical Property and Liability Claims Manager; based from our office in Glasgow offering hybrid work model we've adapted

Reporting to our Head of Large & Complex Loss - Property and Liability, your main responsibility will be to lead claims teams to provide service and indemnity cost outcomes in the management of large and complex losses that meet our goal. You will support the Large Loss Leader in being the principal DLG expert in large & complex property and liability losses, and as part of the L&CL leadership team a necessary contributor to claims technical strategy and practice.

Main responsibilities:

  • Deliver initiative claims savings, settlement cost performance, large loss emergence, reserve accuracy and run off to agreed targets.
  • Claims servicing to exceed agreed Service level agreements and caseload /FTE targets across all classes by utilising operational performance data.
  • Responsible for the selection, engagement and performance of suppliers ensuring they follow the policy and contracted terms by working with DLG Procurement and Supply Chain management.
  • Operate as DLG 's principal SME for Large and Complex Loss Property and Liability by providing technical experience and advice to colleagues in other departments and by participating in DLG Forums or projects.
  • Active contributor to the L&CL Home & Commercial Property operational teams and delivery of the directorate's goals

What you'll need:

  • Experience managing high complex claims
  • Commercial Business understanding
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills
  • Exposure to people management
  • Knowledge of common law and legislation affecting Property and Liability insurance
