The role

We have a fantastic opportunity for a Service Transition professional with the capability to take on a Change and Release Manager role within our team. You'll be expected to deal with some of our more complex Changes and Releases, protecting stability whilst facilitating change at pace. This will require some technical understanding and sound stakeholder management skills.

This is an initial 6-month, full-time Fixed Term Contract opportunity.

N.B

·There will be a requirement to work occasionally outside of core hours.

Who you'll work with:

You'll join our Service Transition team working with other Change and Release Managers and Analysts, Knowledge Managers, and reporting into our Service Transition Manager, Kelvin Jones. Our Service Transition team is part of the wider Production Operations department.

What you'll be doing:

·Review and assess change records against agreed criteria, processes and standards.

·Conduct post-change reviews and ensure corrective actions are agreed where appropriate.

·Communicate High Awareness Periods and Change Freezes; liaise regarding potential exceptions, gather details for decision making.

·Chair CAB meetings, including the preparation of documentation, noting of actions and post meeting communications.

·Ensure that the right level of due diligence & requirements are applied to each release based on agreed processes and a set of acceptance criteria that are applied based on the release risk and complexity.

·Co-ordinate Service Validation activities during/post Change/Release activity (in particular by third parties) where appropriate.

·Review Schedule of Events, Implementation Plan and other release related artifacts.

·Support Release Events including the development of release plans and schedules, risks and issues, and communication plans; run or contribute to Release Retrospectives and other meetings.

·Provide education, guidance and support, to ensure adoption of and adherence to Service Transition processes.

·Identify opportunities for improving Service Transition processes to drive cost and process efficiencies.

What you'll need:

We want to make sure you are set for success, so as well as previous experience in a similar role and knowledge of ITIL we'll look for the following.

·Previous experience in a Service Transition role

·Ability to operate end-to-end Service Transition practices

·Understanding of Continual Service Improvement

·Good level technical understanding

·Experience in developing, improving, streamlining and automating Service Transition processes, tools and data.

·Hands-on experience with a range of technologies such as ServiceNow, Jira/Confluence, Power BI and/or other tooling relevant to Service Management.

·Excellent stakeholder management capability
