Infrastructure SME - 18 Month Fixed Term Contract

What you'll be doing:

As our Infrastructure SME you will support the management and governance of the Infrastructure Operational Activities with a focus on Windows & Linux compute and our network infrastructure. We'll look to you for the governance of third parties through operations, service stability, monitoring, and incident, problem and change.

This is a FTC until the end of 2024.

• Manage the operational integrity of DLG's Network, Virtualised and physical server infrastructure estate including providing technical governance and ensuring computer and network services operate with the right level of resilience and cost effectiveness

• Provide technical oversight of Suppliers' Operational capability including ensuring the operational direction is fit for purpose and identifying areas for improvement

• Support our change technical assurance approach providing confidence to stakeholders and giving proactive oversight to support third party suppliers to ensure the delivered solution continually meets agreed standards

• Provide support and technical assurance for major incident activity and input into problem and change review

• Maximise the value of Infrastructure Platforms to DLG which includes developing trusted relationships with suppliers, identifying opportunities to reduce total cost ownership and operational improvement, and the analysis of supplier roadmaps and end of life cycles to assess impact and recommend actions

• Partner with service integration, service operations and service architecture teams to support end-to-end service operations across the supply chain

• Provide operational and technical leadership for key infrastructure components including DLG Infrastructure Service Catalogue, ensuring End of Life is managed within DLG risk appetite and undertaking technology assessment and evaluations to provide recommendations

What you'll need:

A wide range of technical expertise within infrastructure;

• Networking principles, operations and design

• Cisco ACI / Routing and switching

• Fortinet firewall

• F5 Load balancing

• Proxy services (both on prem and cloud)

• VMWare networking/ VMWare hypervisor technologies (vSphere; vCentre; ESXi etc.)

• Microsoft Windows and Linux Server operational experience

• Intel compute platforms (HPe Synergy)

• Compute platform monitoring principles and products

• Previous experience or relevant skillset to be able to manage third party suppliers or knowledge of working with offshore teams

Who you’ll be working with:

You'll join our Infrastructure Platforms team which sits within our wider ‘Core Technology’ department, reporting into the Head of Infrastructure Platforms.
