The Role:

We are keen to meet people who would like to join Direct Line Group as a General Insurance Pricing Practitioner within personal lines, we have vacancies available at various levels.

You'll join our Pricing & Underwriting Chapter working in our agile tribes & squads, across our Insurance products on numerous challenges focused on whether we're charging the right price for any given insurance risk. We’ll utilise your skills where they are most needed whilst also giving you the opportunity to build and grow your expertise. Working in this way means you'll take charge early on, soak up new experiences and most importantly your ideas will shape what we do – making a positive impact on our customers' lives.

N.B This role can be based anywhere in the UK and mainly at home, with some ad-hoc travel to our Leeds/London hubs.

What you'll be doing:

• Improving DLG’s pricing & underwriting performance and longer-term capability whilst maintaining pricing & underwriting discipline.
• Use your experience and technical skills to develop innovative solutions to often challenging problems.
• You'll gain knowledge and experience to build your understanding of our business, our customers, and the wider industry. You will form part of a cohort of Pricing, Data Science and Underwriting Specialists reporting to a Chapter Lead.
• You'll be encouraged, supported, and listened to. You'll take ownership of projects and be encouraged to develop your skills.

What you'll need:

• Previous experience within an insurance pricing role and you'll need the ability to work and create in an ever-changing environment.
• You'll have experience or knowledge of model building (either risk or retail models), be commercially aware and experienced in managing a book of business.
• You'll be curious, unfazed by ambiguity, a good problem solver, analytical, collaborative and a good communicator.
• You'll have a talent for spotting how to make things better, and to do just that.
• Ability to support others, coaching and sharing you skills and expertise with your peers.
