Senior Pricing Manager (CoE)
We have a great opportunity at Direct Line Group for an experienced Senior Pricing Manager to join our Pricing and Underwriting CoE (Centre of Expertise). This is a hybrid role and can be based anywhere across the UK.
At Direct Line Group, the Pricing and Underwriting CoE (Centre of Expertise) is going through change, the ambition is to deliver thought leadership to help shape future pricing & underwriting outcomes. We’ll enable squads to deliver by driving strong Chapter outcomes such as effective & efficient governance and control, frameworks to deliver technical standards and robust recruitment and talent management processes.
We will be integral to the wider success of the P&U Chapter, parachuting into squads to provide our specialist expertise and unblock issues, find solutions and enable delivery.
What we are looking for
We are keen to meet enthusiastic, passionate and curious individuals from all sorts of specialisms across pricing. Key is your desire to ‘T’ shape, developing your expertise but also broadening your wider knowledge to enable you to embrace and deliver lots of different scenarios and challenges.
We are looking for individuals with strong data expertise, a commercial mentality with the ability to identify risks and opportunities across the squads. We also want you to bring your external marketplace, customer and competitors knowledge to the team.
Please note you will need previous experience in insurance for this role, ideally within personal lines but we would consider other areas of insurance for the right candidate.
What you'll be doing
You’ll provide pricing, costing and actuarial thought leadership and advice across the P&U chapter and associated business Tribes. Example activity includes:
Shaping thinking on future risks & opportunities
Proactive development of new approaches to Pricing
Provide a strategic view of pricing capability roadmaps, supporting our P&U leadership in the process
Work with underwriting as well as the wider P&U chapter to deliver value across P&U
Provide expert Pricing support to transformation projects
Help develop COE through sharing of insight, expertise, coaching and role modelling
Who you'll be working with:
You’ll work in the Pricing and Underwriting CoE but may be allocated out to various interdisciplinary squads, swarming to wherever your skillset is most needed.
You’ll have a chapter lead (people manager) whom you build a relationship with and who supports your personal development. You’ll also be part of the wider P&U Chapter, with town halls of all 200 of you or in smaller focus groups where you'll be sharing knowledge and ideas, thoughts and ways of working.
