We have a fantastic opportunity for a dedicated and energetic Telephone Account Manager to join our established sales team in the National Trading Centre on a permanent basis

This role is hybrid working with one day per week (Tuesdays) in our Manchester office.

What you'll be doing:

The role will be to manage a broker panel and to develop new or revisit relationships. To support profitable trading with our broker partners and networks. You will actively develop and lead a portfolio of broker relationships and ensure that first class account management services are delivered, working closely with underwriting colleagues and any other key business areas. This will include:

  • Enthusiastically manage, grow and reinvigorate brokers using a proactive sales/telephony strategy. New business success will be supported by strong prospect pipeline management across the panel to achieve financial plan, profit and appropriate segment growth monitored on a monthly basis.
  • Implement the core sales strategy via regular call engagement, develop relationships with new & stagnant brokers working positively to identify untapped potential within the panel.
  • Manage growth plans within existing brokers, present to new brokers and negotiate a profitable account outcome.
  • Track and manage new & ongoing deals with a working knowledge of the deals & proposition process, documentation & identify potential new deal opportunities within the panel.
  • Represent the broker panel internally to ensure new business & existing business underwriting activity is completed on time as this contributes a positive broker relationship. Chase outstanding quotes & assist underwriters with appetite calls and lead verification when required
  • Maintain and develop a good understanding of products, markets, sectors, geographic locations, distribution segmentation and communicate market developments to appropriate internal partners, supporting business opportunities throughout DLG.

What we are looking for:

  • Ability to display effective management of external, commercial relationships
  • Ability to show exposure to sales skills - active listening, understanding customer needs, presenting features advantages and benefits
  • Ability to work within a team environment - both an on site team and a remote team, to benefit business results
  • Exposure to General Insurance (desired but not essential)

Hours:35 hours (Monday - Friday 9am-5pm)
