Values Pioneers

One day in Glasgow

Posted by Values Pioneers at 03:49 PM

‘One Day’ helps Direct Line Group make a difference to people’s lives.

The idea is simple. Each year, every Direct Line Group employee has the opportunity to spend one paid working day volunteering – either individually or as a team – for a charity or community group.
This month, 13 staff from the HR team in Glasgow recently spent a day volunteering for Project 31, a non profit making organisation, which seeks to enrich the experiences of children and families by engaging them in high quality appropriate play and recreational activities.
According to Project 31 “they made a fabulous contribution to the Springhall Community Garden with loads of gardening and painting including a beautiful new pond.”
The team had a great time and feel like they have made a real difference. It's lovely to know that kids and adults are already enjoying the results of the hard work everyone put in.
