What we are looking for

We are looking for someone with experience of building and deploying analytical solutions within large organizations. Someone who is used to applying groundbreaking technology to real business problems, gained via a career in Consulting or a FTSE250 business. You will decide what the right analytical technique is for a particular situation to bring new insights to our Finance and Actuarial teams and ensure that it is robust, scalable and safe. You will help keep DLG up-to-date with the latest tools and techniques and support the Chief Data Office in harnessing our data assets to make insurance much easier and better value for our customers.

Who you’ll be working with

You will support the Head of Analytics and Data Science and our Finance Change teams by leading on analytics projects within our Finance and Actuarial functions, helping these groups further improve and mature their analytics. You will join a growing and strategic part of DLG in our Bromley office.

What you’ll be doing

  • You will own and lead several key data initiatives identified within our Finance Transformation programme, including data solutions, analytics, visualisation and automation.
  • You will sit within the Chief Data Office, but work on projects hand in hand with the Finance business and our Finance Transformation team.
  • Work with both the Chief Data Officer team and Finance to anticipate, shape and deliver the work, taking responsibility for data, modelling and communication of analysis and build to key partners within the business.
  • Mentor, and sometimes direct, the work of other team members, especially more junior members and stakeholders new to data and analytics.
  • Demonstrate and own the “art of the possible” showcasing new capabilities and driving innovation within Finance, in line with the Chief Data Office’s strategy and roadmap.

Key Skills

  • You will have experience with RDBMS database (e.g. Oracle, Microsoft SQL) design and build.
  • Experience in building robust data pipelines.
  • Experience managing a small data analytics teams would be beneficial.
  • Experience with Finance and/or ERP systems (ideally Oracle) would be beneficial.
  • You will have knowledge of data visualization principles and software (e.g. Tableau, Qlikview).
