What we're looking for:

We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Commercial Motor Pricing Manager to join our existing team based from our Leeds (The Wharf) office.

Who you'll be working with:

You will be supporting the Head of Commercial Motor Pricing in delivering pricing for all Commercial Motor lines. You will assist your manager in delivering and planning all price recommendations and their resultant implementation as well as actively contributing to the longer term pricing strategy for your area.

What you'll be doing:

Delivering pricing for all Commercial Motor products in support of day-to-day trading performance targets and the pricing strategy

Managing, leading developing a team of actuaries and analysts, developing Commercial Motor pricing team and contributing towards the wider development of skills across the pricing and underwriting department

Liaising with a wide variety of teams in order to shape and deliver your teams pricing strategy, working effectively with distribution teams, marketing, operations, wider pricing and underwriting teams and other areas. Use your knowledge, negotiation skills and specialist technical knowledge to deliver upon objectives and to grow shareholder value

Actively contributing to the strategic risk appetite for your area, assisting you manager in challenging senior stakeholders using your market and technical knowledge.

Ensuring that pricing controls are followed with respect to rate testing, implementation and adherence to the wider company risk appetite.

Ensuring compliance with core Direct Line Group Policies, statutory and regulatory requirements, governance controls (including all relevant risk minimum standards) and timely completion of risk and audit actions. Ensure reputational risk is minimised.

Ensuring compliance with HR processes, talent management, performance management and people strategy.

Ensuring appropriate use of team building opportunities to build team (and wider) relationships in line with our values and people strategy.

Reinforcing the culture and core values of Direct Line Group through appropriate behaviours and actions.

Supporting delivery of the Commercial Motor pricing strategy and ensure that customers outcomes are considered when making pricing decisions and ensure these remain consistent with Group risk appetite

Skills and qualities you'll need:

We would like you to be passionate about sharing your ideas to engage and enthuse our stakeholders at all levels, so excellent communication skills are a must.

You will have a strong understanding of the motor insurance market, underwriting principles, and have excellent people management skills.

Previous Radar software experience is desirable
